Contact Policy
- Addresses: There are three email addresses available with the following domains: gmail.com, freiburger-alpinschule.de and finally orangrey.org
- Subsidiary: Use the email address according to your request.
- For private and off-topic contact use my public gmail.com address.
- For requests related to the FAS use my freiburger-alpinschule.de address.
- The address affiliated with orangrey.org is limited to specially invited people on important and urgent requests, e.g. some dotProject related contacts.
- Mass Mails: Avoid mass mailing where possible. If though necessary, prefer BlindCarbonCopy over just CC or TO. Don’t group together people that do not have anything to do with each other. In particular never use my orangrey.org address in public mass mailings exceeding the limited circle of people allowed to send to orangrey.org.
- Citation: Cite economically, i.e. by answering or forwarding respectively only transport the parts of the mail that are necessary for reference. That economizes machine server and human brain resource load.
- Attachments & File Formats: Please adhere to open and free file formats. Do not assume me to be able to or wasting time trying to open any closed format (not even OOXML). Concerning greater attachments – download links are usually highly preferred over ‘hard’ attachments.
- Reduce to the max: Please limit your messages to text-only mails and avoid (often proprietary) stylish crap which is not shown here at all and sometimes even messes the content up.
- Use encryption with my OpenPGP Public Key where possible and useful.
- Never use my last name in the subject (as a lot of spam does) – I have a manual filter running against this.
Please abide by these rules. Otherwise correct classification and in particular delivery of emails is not granted. Keep in mind that spam filters are adapted very easily.
